Verona - Oakmont Rotary Club

Picture
In 1927, the Verona Oakmont Rotary Club was formed. The Pittsburgh club helped organize 25 local men into the club.

During the years, the Rotary Club has provided a number of scholarships. Including nursing scholarships; donated equipment and assisted in the improvement of the Verona and Oakmont parks.

The club provided a number of Christmas food baskets for families in Verona and Oakmont; purchased a book cart for the library; presented a book to the guidance counselor which lists scholarships for all students; donated to hurricane and earthquake relief through Rotary clubs located in the stricken areas.

The Verona-Oakmont Rotary club helped start three other Rotary clubs; Penn Hills, New Kensington and Fox Chapel.

The club has entertained a number of visitors and students from other countries.

The first president was Paul Bealafeld.  The 1971 president was Robert Campbell.
